Discover Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Beach Residences
We continue our discovery of Dubai the magical city.
Today you will discover the Marina district.
Ocean views, water sports, family activities and fabulous restaurants await you in the Dubai Marina district.
With a 1.7 km beach, a marina filled with luxury yachts and gigantic skyscrapers, the areas of Dubai Marina and JBR (Jumeirah Beach Residences) will not disappoint.
Voted one of the 50 best neighborhoods in the world by the editors of Time Out, they are lively destinations popular with vacationers and locals looking for a moment of relaxation in the sun or an evening in the open air. They are also popular areas among young professionals and families.
There’s always something on schedule at JBR’s The Beach, a beachfront boulevard with restaurants and shops. Equipped with a 600-meter running track and outdoor sports fields, it regularly hosts free events on weekends, including fireworks, concerts and performances by street artists, as well as carnivals and even BMX freestyle demonstrations.
The waters of this district are ideal for indulging in various water activities such as parasailing, wakeboarding or banana boating. You will also find the largest inflatable water park in the world here. If you prefer to keep your feet dry, opt to rent a lounge chair or prefer a camel ride along the beach.
Located on the other side of JBR, Dubai Marina is a breathtaking destination, all set in emerald waters bordered by some of the tallest (if not the most incredible) residential towers in the world.
All the city’s foodies come to Dubai Marina to enjoy its restaurants offering breathtaking views of the surrounding waters. This area is also popular with families, as it offers many children’s play areas throughout the year and organizes street festivals, outdoor film screenings and pop-up markets.
After a stroll on the seven-kilometer-long pedestrian promenade, dotted with terraces, cafes and a shopping center, the most essential activity of the place is undoubtedly the trip to the sea. Opt for the rental of a magnificent yacht for the day; many travel agencies have boats leaving from the marina to tour this unique area, before taking you to the waters of the Persian Gulf.
How to get there: If you choose the Metro, get off at DAMAC Properties station or DMCC station, from where you can also take the Dubai Tram. The area is also served by water taxis and by ferry (Dubai Marina station and Dubai Marina Mall ferry station).
