Zanzibar Archipelago the ideal destination

Zanzibar Archipelago the ideal destination

The Zanzibar Archipelago is the ideal destination to extend a stay in Tanzania after days of safari with a specific objective: to relax … and soak up the charm of the islands! In Zanzibar, I loved taking a trip on a traditional boat, I enjoyed its beautiful beaches, especially in the east of the island, while tasting grilled fish. Meeting the locals or indulging in the joys of underwater activities are also some of the experiences not to be missed during a stay in Zanzibar. Whether you like snorkeling or scuba diving, the waters of the archipelago are home to truly incredible coral fauna!

On the beach side, the Zanzibar archipelago is subject to strong tides with some beaches the presence of algae, which can sometimes restrict swimming at certain times of the day.

In addition, I always recommend starting or ending your stay in Zanzibar by exploring Stone Town, which is definitely worth spending some time on.

Yesterday we were talking about the paradisiacal beaches of the island, and if you took the opportunity to go diving or snorkeling in the heart of the most beautiful spots?

The Zanzibar archipelago is renowned for its diving spots and discovering a varied and breathtaking aquatic world. In the north of the main island of Zanzibar, the diving spots are located on the side of Nungwi and the Mnemba atoll where a wide variety and protected marine life is concentrated. In the south of the island, it is around Kizimkazi that there are equally remarkable and protected diving spots, but much less crowded than in the north. You will then come across many species of fish, maybe even dolphins and you will see beautiful corals.

Another must-do activity on your next trip to Zanzibar is lunch at The Rock restaurant.

If you are looking for an unusual restaurant for a drink or for lunch on the island of Zanzibar, be sure to head to the south of the island off the beach of Michanwi Pingwe where the restaurant, The Rock, is held. located on a small rocky islet. All around this islet, the water is translucent and shelters a coral reef, suitable for swimming and observing a multitude of exotic fish.

Visit a local spice farm

Nicknamed “the spice island”, Zanzibar is world famous for its culture of spices, including cloves and cinnamon.

For a few hours, explore one of the local farms on the island of Zanzibar to discover the various spices that are cultivated. On this tour, you will learn more about the island and all its spices such as vanilla, cloves, cinnamon, lemongrass, nutmeg or even black pepper. You can even taste some of these spices and maybe taste some exotic fruits grown at the local farm, which you will visit. A real sensory experience to awaken your senses, not to be missed!Sensitive souls refrain, we take you swimming with whale sharks on Mafia Island

South of Zanzibar Island, Mafia Island is a meeting place for whale shark and manatee spotting between October and March. It is more precisely off the coast, near Kilindoni (in the south-west of the island), that you multiply your chances of seeing it!

You can also discover the authentic fishing villages of the island and even observe colonies of turtles that come to lay their eggs on the east coast of the island.

To conclude this visit of the day, we invite you to stay on the exclusive island of Mnemba

Welcome to a small tropical paradise, in the north of the island of Zanzibar opposite Matemwe: the private island of Mnemba. The island is reserved for travelers who come to stay in the unique and very luxurious hotel, Mnemba Island Lodge. However, the coral reefs around the island of Mnemba are accessible to all and make it, moreover, one of the most beautiful snorkeling and diving spots in the Zanzibar archipelago for exceptional face-to-face experiences. with many varieties of colorful fish.
