Our tour guide will pick you up at the hotel in Hue then transfer to visit the <\/span>Imperial Citadel<\/strong> where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. You will also stop to visit the <\/span>Flag Tower, Noon Gate, Nine Dynastic Urns, Nine Holy Cannons, Thai Hoa Palace, and the Forbidden Purple City.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

In the afternoon, start your <\/span>Dragon boat trip on Perfume River<\/strong> and a visit to Thien Mu Pagoda - Hue's oldest and most beautiful pagoda, thought to be the symbol of religion and spirit of the Hue people. Then we take a short drive to the elaborate <\/span>Royal tomb of Tu Duc Emperor<\/strong> which is considered as one of the most beautiful and picturesque and largest works of architecture of the Nguyen Dynasty\u2019s royal palaces and tombs. After breakfast, leaving for Hoian, half way between Danang and Hue lies the Hai Van Pass, which is the dividing line between the climate zones of North and South Vietnam. Continue Northwards on Hai Van Pass where you will have a magnificent view of the <\/span>My Khe Sea<\/strong>, stop at <\/span>Lang Co beach<\/strong> to have a break. Then, visit <\/span>Marble Mountain, a<\/strong> group of five marble and limestone mountains, named after the five elements of the ancient oriental philosophy: metal, wood, water, fire and earth.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Upon arrival, visit the ancient city of <\/span>Hoi An<\/strong>,<\/b> formerly named Faifo where there were a lot of Chinese living together with the Japanese and Vietnamese. Sampan drives you on An Hoa River, to enjoy the peaceful living with fishing boats or slow cargo boats on the river.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Driving on a village path with a XE LAM or XE LOI which was the main means of transportation of the decade 60s, visit a local garden with a warm honey tea cup while enjoying tropical fruits. Stop over at a local workshop where you can learn how to make coconut candy and fiery rice wine, taste some candies, and rice wine with the family\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

We visit the <\/span>Toul Sleng Prison Museum and the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek<\/strong>-both grim reminders of Cambodia's bloody past under Pol Pot. It is almost inconceivable to confront the nature of true evil here in this gentle land, but the Buddhist memorial at Choeung Ek, commemorates the 1.7 million victims of the 1975-79 Pol Pot regime. This excursion may prove distressing for some. It is, however, an important piece of this country\u2019s historical and cultural puzzle.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In the afternoon, continue to visit the <\/span>National Museum<\/strong>, also called Musee des Beaux-Arts. A French archaeologist and painter, Georges Groslier, designed it in Khmer style in 1917. The museum contains a collection of Khmer art - notably sculptures - throughout the ages. We end our day trip at <\/span>Wat Phnom Temple<\/strong>, <\/b>Phnom Penh's namesake, from where you can enjoy views over the tree-lined avenues of Phnom Penh during sunset.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

There are enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers which embrace themselves in the stone foundations of the structure giving the impression of man's creation being reclaimed by the powerful forces of nature.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
